This is the ultimate WWI journey, tracing Canada’s role in the Great War from London’s Imperial War Museum to Vimy Ridge and beyond. Attend the 110th anniversary ceremony, visit significant Canadian battlefields, and explore iconic sites in Paris.

Day 1: Board your overnight flight to London

Day 2: London

Meet your Tour Director at your destination

Take a walking tour of London

With your Tour Director you will see:

  • Covent Garden
  • Trafalgar Square
  • Leicester Square

Get your camera ready for a photo stop at the Canada House

Visit the Imperial War Museum

Day 3: London

Take a guided tour of London

With your expert local guide you will see:

  • Big Ben and Houses of Parliament
  • Piccadilly Circus
  • St. Paul’s Cathedral
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (if scheduled)

Tower of London

Tower of London

The history of London comes to life at this complex of 20 towers surrounding Tower Green. The oldest tower, known as the White Tower, was completed in 1097, when it was the tallest building in London. The Tower buildings have had many uses over the years; perhaps the most infamous was as a jail for political prisoners, not to mention two of Henry VIII’s wives. The most famous exhibits at the Tower are the British Crown Jewels. Aside from a short interruption during WWII, these splendid baubles have been locked behind the Tower’s walls for centuries.

Travel by train to Lille

Visit Essex Farm Cemetery 

See the St. Julien Memorial

Visit the In Flanders Fields Museum to learn more about the West Flanders Front during the First World War 

Attend the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate

Day 5: Vimy region

Join fellow Canadians for the 110th anniversary ceremonies celebrating Canada’s victory at Vimy Ridge. Spend some time exploring the site where Canadian history was made on April 9, 1917. Discover the secret behind the sheep that graze the fields and admire the profoundly moving Canadian National Vimy Memorial.

Day 7: Normandy region | Paris
