Travel naturally puts students in moments where they need to think on their feet — getting around new places, handling the unexpected, adjusting as they go. Throughout the tour, students build self-awareness, adaptability, and independence. They come home with a stronger sense of who they are, and proof they can do challenging things.

Many students arrive on tour as classmates, teammates, or acquaintances. They often return home as something more. Days spent exploring new places, trying new things, and navigating the unexpected together have a way of bringing people closer. Friendships deepen, new connections form, and shared memories become stories they'll tell for years to come.

Students grow through experiences they can’t get from a textbook. They learn to communicate, collaborate, solve problems, and take initiative as they navigate new cultures and communities. Those moments help prepare them for what's next, from post-secondary education to future careers and opportunities.

Travel has a way of changing how students see everything, including what’s familiar. They encounter new cultures, histories, and ways of life different from their own. And often, that's only the beginning: along the way, students discover new sides of their friends, get to know their teachers in a different light, and come home seeing their own communities a little differently, too.

Real-world learning.

Real-life growth.

Educational travel isn’t just about where students go. It’s how they grow—and who they become along the way.

For over 60 years, EF has been designing tours that go beyond sightseeing. Every moment on tour is a chance to build future-ready skills, grow as a person, and see the world with new eyes.

Here’s what that looks like in action:
